Jesca was supported and mentored by Tom Waits after Waits discovered her musical talent while she
acted as nanny for his children. In the past Jesca has toured with artists such as the Polyphonic
Spree, Mark Knopfler and in 2008 she toured with Elbow. Guy Garvey was so impressed with Jesca that
he provides vocals on album track 'Murder of Birds.'

TV On The Radio Guitarist Brings Solo Project To Belfast - Tuesday 9th February 2010

TV On The Radio vocalist and guitarist Kyp Malone’s brings his solo project Rain Machine to Belfast for a gig at the Speakeasy on Wednesday 14th April. Released on ANTI Records in late 2009 the project is provocative, unique and deeply personal to the artist. Rain Machine features ten unflinchingly original and emotional songs mixing elements of modern jazz, blue-grass and blistering guitar driven rock into a refreshing new sound. As singer and guitarist for celebrated band TV on the Radio, Malone proved himself both a captivating and delightfully unpredictable musical force. On Rain Machine, he shows himself a singer and a lyricist of startling talents. Malone recently described Rain Machine as “a nearly full spectrum of frequencies audible to the human ear, a reflection of a variety of emotions and situations real and imagined - some rhythm some rhyme.” In most instances such a statement could be dismissed as nothing more than playful hyperbole. This is not one of those times. Rain Machine is the sound of an extraordinary artist emerging into his own.

You Me At Six Announce Mandela Show - Tuesday 24th November 2009

One of pop punks new shining lights You Me At Six are set for a return to the Mandela Hall in the new year. The 5 piece will play Belfast as part of a full UK Tour on Saturday 27th March. Tickets go on sale for this all ages gig on Wednesday 25th November at 9am. Tickets are priced £17.50

You Me At Six began as most bands do: friends coming together and playing music to pass the time. United by their love of bands such as Fall Out Boy and Blink-182, the Surrey based quintet started out just like any other, practicing in their families’ garages and playing shows to their friends. Slowly building a fan base across the UK, thanks in part to social networking site MySpace, You Me At Six began touring the country, letting their fan base grow organically. By the summer of 2007 and with over a million plays on their MySpace, You Me At Six played a support slot to a sold out crowd at London’s Underworld and it was clear their peers as well as industry types were taking notice. Kerrang! Magazine ran an Introducing feature on the band soon after marking the beginning of a very busy year for Josh, Matt, Chris, Max and Dan.

Since the autumn of 2007, it’s been a whirlwind for You Me At Six… Two Kerrang! Nominations, tours supporting everyone from Fightstar to New Found Glory, The Audition, Angels & Airwaves and Fall Out Boy as well as numerous headline tours and festival appearances came their way. They also signed an album deal with Slam Dunk Records and released their debut album, Take Off Your Colours, which went in at number 25.

With a slew of festival performances scheduled in this Summer, which includes Download, T In The Park and Oxegen as well as the Vans Warped Tour in the States, You Me At Six are set to kick off 2010 with a new album and their biggest headline tour yet!

With two sold out Belfast shows already behind them at the Spring & Airbrake and the Mandela Hall, You Me At Six will also join Paramore as their special guests on December 12th at the 02, Dublin.

Tickets for You Me At Six are priced £17.50 inclusive of booking fee and on sale from 9am tomorrow, Wednesday 25 November.

BBC Introducing in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales are joining forces on Tuesday, November 17 to showcase the best in new music from around the UK with a free one-off event in Belfast.

BBC Introducing presenters Huw Stephens, Rory McConnell (Northern Ireland), Vic Galloway (Scotland) and Bethan Elfyn (Wales) will descend upon Belfast's Mandela Hall on Tuesday, November 7, to present live music from four hotly-tipped new bands: Two Door Cinema Club; Pulled Apart By Horses; Twin Atlantic; and Save Your Breath.

Northern Ireland BBC Introducing presenter Rory McConnell says: "It's been such an amazing year for BBC Introducing that we thought it would be the perfect way to end 2009 by celebrating new music in a live environment, and where better to do it than Belfast! BBC Introducing across the BBC and Radio 1 has confirmed its position as the place to go for new music whether you're making it or a fan of it, and now in Belfast all four nations unite for an end of year party in Belfast's Mandela Hall and Huw Stevens, Vic Galloway, Bethan Elfyn and myself can't wait to see you there."

Tickets for this concert are free and are available by visiting bbc.co.uk/ni/tickets or calling the BBC NI ticketline on 0370 9011227 (UK-wide rate charged at no more than 01/02 geographic numbers: calls may be recorded for training).

BBC Introducing showcases unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musical talent from around the UK.

Introducing with Rory McConnell in Northern Ireland can be heard on BBC Radio One on Thursdays, from 00.00am-02.00am.

The bands:

Twin Atlantic (Scotland)
In the last couple of decades, the city of Glasgow has shone as one of the world's most vibrant and diverse music scenes. Twin Atlantic - a young four-piece whose ambitious debut mini-album, Vivarium, is packed with enormous sweeping riffs, moods that flit from light to shade, and impassioned vocals dripping with gorgeous Scottish vowels – are powering out of that creative hub of a hometown to take on the world.

Two Door Cinema Club (Northern Ireland)
Two Door Cinema Club are three people with the help of technology and a thirst for anything quirky. If you were to pose the question: "Where do Two Door Cinema Club live?" And someone was to answer, "Why, Bangor!" That someone would only be 66.67% correct because Two Door Cinema Club are a Bangor-/Donaghadee based electro-pop band. An obvious absence in the rhythm department is humbly filled by an unadulterated Macintosh and the electronic thump from the fourth imperceptible member goes hand in hand with the electro/pop direction. Their music has been loosely compared to the likes of Death Cab for Cutie and Broken Social Scene but without a definitive capacity to be pigeon-holed. Melodic vocals, which hail from all three members of the outfit, infuse with guitar riffs that have been described as "oceanic" and rhythm described as "pulsing". To get the symbolism out of the way, take your seats; it"s going to be a blockbuster.

Pulled Apart By Horses (England)
Recently on tour as support to Biffy Clyro, the band are fabled for taking their tops off and most of the time, their pants too. Tom often likes to vomit during his performances. He blames this on the shear physical exertion. However this is usually down to the smell on stage. James will often climb on to amps and speaker stacks and jump back down again. Lee likes to sweat whilst he plays his drums. On a number of occasions he has made obscene phone calls whilst performing, boasting about his manliness. Rob plays the bass, more often than not.

Save Your Breath (Wales)
Save Your Breath are a band from Newport, South Wales, playing honest straight up pop punk. Having racked up shows with the Polar Bear Club, Set Your Goals, Verse, Funeral for a Friend, The Blackout, Kids in Glass Houses, In This For Fun, Maycomb, Dungeons, All or Nothing and The Loved Ones to name but a few, their future certainly looks promising.
