MANDELA HALL

The Mandela Hall in the basement of the Students Union has played host to some of the biggest names in music. One of the most revered and famous venues in Northern Ireland it has seen shows by the likes of Radiohead, Editors, Franz Ferdinand, Paolo Nutini, Biffy Clyro, The Klaxons, Elbow and many more. Upcoming shows for Autumn 2009 include Little Boots, Peter Doherty and Newton Faulkner.

Once a month The Mandela Hall gives it self over to the world famous club night Shine.The Mandela Hall in the basement of the Students Union has played host to some of the biggest names in music. Approaching its 14th Birthday the club has hosted every big DJ in its time. Soulwax, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Vitalic, Green Velvet, Dave Clarke. Essential for dance music fans.

SPEAKEASY BAR

The Speakeasy Bar
Situated on the first floor of the Students Union this multi function bar caters to wide range of events. Open from midday it serves a range of lunchtime food. The Bar has a laid back daytime atmosphere with pool tables, a jukebox and TV’s. At night the venue holds a variety of different events, ranging from live gigs with local and international acts, live sports on a big screen and is the home of Radar Live on a Thursday and Good Friday every weekend.

BUNATEE BAR

This newly refurbished bar for ‘09/10 is the jewel in the night time Union crown. It acts as a 2nd Room on the big club nights on Monday and Thursday and as a pre drinks bar for live gigs in the Mandela Hall. During the week the Bunatee is available for hosting Clubs and Societies parties and events.

BAR SUB
The Sub Bar

Situated in the basement of the Union this recently refurbished bar is a cool and quirky place to wile away the evening. TV’s show sporting events, pool tables to catch up with mates and a jukebox loaded with tunes it’s a great place to go and hangout with friends.
